Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Monday announced harsher fines for spitting in public and not following rules such as wearing masks or maintaining social distancing.
The penalty for the 1st & 2nd violation – Rs 500 (was Rs 200).
Subsequent violations – Rs 1000 each.
DGP Abhay announced that the night curfew timings will remain unchanged in Odisha. There will be curfew from 7 pm to 7 am as before instead of 9 pm to 5 am as announced by centre. There will also be complete shutdown on Saturdays and Sundays in 11 districts in the month of June.

Cinema halls, gyms, shopping malls will remain closed till June 30, while there will be restricted entry inside religious institutions and political gatherings.
Hotels have been allowed to reopen with 30 per cent guests. Restaurants will, however, be limited to takeaways only.
