Bhubaneswar: Odisha will again experience unseasonal rain from Tuesday (January 28).
The rainfall activities will remain confined to evening and night hours of January 28 and continue for the next 24 hours (January 29), according to a report published in skymetweather.com.
Some parts of North coastal Odisha are likely to receive rain on January 30, the report said, attributing it to a western disturbance . “Also, a trough will extend from Punjab up to East Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, northwesterly winds will merge with southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal in the wake of an anti-cyclone,” the report added.
Isolated pockets will also witness strong winds and lightning strikes. This will lead to an increase in the night temperature, which will drop once again after the rain, it further said.
On Saturday, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre had forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts on January 28 and Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara on January 29.
It had also predicted a gradual rise in the night temperature by 4-6 degree Celsius in these districts from January 30, the bulletin added.
