Mumbai: Amid rumours around Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal’s divorce and trolls targeting the former for the spilt, social media influencer Uorfi Javed has come out in support of the cricketer’s wife.
Uorfi took to her Instagram Stories and clapped back at trolls for targeting a woman and holding her responsible for the divorce, especially when she is a cricketer’s wife.
Reposting a video which alleged that Dhanashree ‘ruined’ Chahal’s life, Uorfi wrote, “Every time a cricketer is breaking up or getting divorced, the woman is bashed left right and centre just because in our head our cricketer is our hero. None of us have any idea what happened between the two or even during Natasha and Hardik’s case but of course it’s the woman who is at fault.”
She referred to the divorce of Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic, where people blamed the latter for the split.
Uorfi also stated how Anushka Sharma is always blamed for Virat Kohli’s performance on the field.
“Oh and don’t forget the time when Anushka was blamed for Virat’s bad performances. Remember? So it’s always the woman who is to be blamed for the man’s action? These are grown men with fully functioning brains who know what they are doing,” Uorfi added, defending Dhanashree.
Talk of their divorce started after Dhanashree dropped Chahal from her name on her Instagram handle.
Social media users also observed that leg-spinner Chahal, who is not currently part of the Indian team, and Dhanashree have unfollowed each other on Instagram, thereby adding fuel to the fire. Pictures and videos of their wedding have also been deleted from Chahal’s account, hinting at a rough phase in their marriage.
Chahal and Dhanashree got hitched in December 2020 in a private ceremony held in Gurgaon.
