Mumbai: After Bollywood actor Salman Khan, now a death threat has aimed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
According to reports, the Mumbai Police on Saturday received a threat message asking Yogi Adityanath to resign within 10 days or be killed like former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Bandra last month.
The message was reportedly received by the Mumbai Police Traffic Control Cell from an unknown number. Further investigation into the matter was underway, police told ANI. An FIR is yet to be registered in this case.
The threat was communicated via a WhatsApp message, reported the Hindustan Times. This message has put police on alert as the UP CM is likely to visit Maharashtra for the state assembly election campaign. Earlier, the BJP had mentioned his name as one of the star campaigners for the Maharashtra polls. As a precautionary measure, security for the UP CM has been significantly increased, reported the Hindustan Times.
The threat message to Adityanath comes days after Bollywood actor Salman Khan received a similar threat from an unknown number demanding Rs 2 crore.
Khan had received death threats on earlier occasions as well allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police had even arrested two persons for sending threats to the actor. Earlier, miscreants—suspected to be the members of the Bishnoi gang—had opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra home.
