Lucknow: In a bizarre and shocking incident, a principal of a convent school in Uttar Pradesh has been accused of suspending a nursery student belonging to Muslim community for bringing non-vegetarian food in his tiffin.
The incident, which took place at Hilton Public School in Amroha, came to light after a video went viral on social media.
In a heated argument, the principal told the kid’s mother that the boy repeatedly brought non-veg meals, gave it to classmates and mentioned converting them to Islam.
The mother vehemently denied the allegation, saying that her child is a quiet type and not capable of saying such things.
She claimed that the boy was not allowed to attend classes the entire day, without guardians being informed.
The principal went on to make serious allegations.
“We don’t want to teach kids with such morals, who will demolish our temples, and bring non-veg to school,” the principal is heard telling the mother.
The mother defended her son, complaining that he had been complaining for months about other children talking about Hindus and Muslims in class.
Taking cognizance of the viral video, Amroha Police took to social media to inform that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
“Sir, regarding the above case, please be informed that a three-member investigation committee has been constituted by the District School Inspector Amroha to investigate and take action on the viral video. The law and order situation is normal,” police stated.
