While the whole team of much-awaited Odia flick ‘Badmash Toka’ is going gung ho with the promotional activities, the female lead Malobika Banerjee is conspicuous by her absence.
The film will hit theatres across the state on September 15.
The Bengali beauty, currently busy shooting in Mumbai, is apparently upset with the production house and producer Soubhagya Parida for not intimating her about the release date.
“I have worked with other Odia producers and never had any issue with them,” she said.
‘Badmash Toka’ was earlier slated for December 2016 release.
However, this is not the only thing bothering her. “The producer is yet to clear my payment despite repeated reminders,” said a visibly annoyed Malobika.
The unprofessional attitude of the production house made her to give the promotional activities a miss, she added.
The film has been produced under the banner of SK Entertainment and directed by Prasant Pal.
Despite repeated attempts, OdishaBytes couldn’t connect to Soubhagya Parida for his comments on the controversy. Though he promised to get back after the first call made to him, he didn’t pick the subsequent ones.
Malobika debuted in Ollywood with ‘Mate Bohu Kari Neija’ in 2011. Her last film ‘Dele Dhara Katha Sare’ opposite Jyoti Ranjan Nayak was released in 2016.
With ‘Badmash Toka’, angry young man Udayan Aprajeet is making his debut in Odia film industry.
