New Delhi: Amid aerial operations between the two nuclear neighbours, three veto-wielding nations, the US, UK and France, have submitted a fresh proposal at the United Nations Security Council to designate Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar a global terrorist.
Russia, the other nation with veto power, has supported the ban in the past. The ball is again in the court of Pakistan’s ally China, which has repeatedly blocked the order.
The ban, if imposed, will lead to a global travel ban, asset freeze and arms embargo on Masood Azhar.
