Man Booked For Trying To ‘Sell’ Statue Of Unity On OLX For ₹30000 Crore

Ahmedabad: A cheating and forgery case has been registered against a person for putting up an advertisement on second-hand goods site OLX, selling the Statue of Unity to raise funds for the fight against coronavirus.

The unknown user from Gujarat had placed the ad for ₹30,000 crore claiming that the funds will be used for “urgent money required for the hospitals and healthcare equipment.”

The 182-metres memorial statue has been built in Gujarat in honour of Sardar Patel. It is the world’s tallest statue.

The listing has now been removed from OLX.
