Bhubaneswar: Contrary to its expectations, the Utkal University in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar has slipped from A+ to A in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) grading.
In the latest gradation released by NAAC, the prestigious university in the state could secure 3.16 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to get A.
Ironically, the university had secured A+ in the last NAAC assessment in 2016 and was striving to get A++ this time. A 5-member team of the NAAC had visited the university last month and inspected the facilities to assess quality and standards.
The NAAC uses several indicators including Curricular Aspects, Teaching-learning & Evaluation, Research, Innovations & Extension, Infrastructure & Learning Resources, Student Support & Progression, Governance, Leadership & Management, Institutional Values & Best Practices to assess the grade of the educational institutions.
