Bhubaneswar: Utkal University in Odisha’s Capital is aiming for National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) A++ grade.
The NAAC committee will be visiting the campus soon for grading. “The efforts to transform the university into a digital campus are in the final stages. Our primary focus now is on improving the research output of the university and its development,” vice-chancellor Sabita Acharya told mediapersons on the eve of the 80th foundation day of the institute on Saturday.
The team will examine several characteristics such as curriculum, teaching, evaluation, research, infrastructure, innovative practices, staff strength, and extra co-curricular activities that are being undertaken in the university leading up to the grading.
In 2016, the university secured an A+ grade with a 3.53 CGPA. The grade expired last year. More than 350 colleges are affiliated with the varsity.
Acharya added that the university has undertaken a number of development works on the campus, including setting up a Centre for Innovation and Incubation since the last NAAC grading and she is confident that the NAAC team would like the measures.
