Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed on the campus of the Utkal University on Thursday after irate students of the Plus III streams geheroed the office of the vice-chancellor, demanding postponement of the 4th semester examination.
Talking to the media, the agitating students said while the courses for the 4th semester are yet to be completed, the university authorities in a notification have announced the date for the examination on May 4. “We demand that the examination should be deferred till the courses are not completed,” they maintained.
Contacted, the controller of examinations of the university Sarat Chandra Majhi said the demand of the students will be considered.
Earlier on Monday, a delegation of the University Students’ Union had taken up the matter with the authorities concerned.
