Bhubaneswar: Investment proposals to the tune of Rs 4.33 lakh crore have been received in the energy sector during the ongoing ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo said on Wednesday.
Singh Deo, who chaired the Sectoral Session on ‘Renewable Energy for Viksit Odisha’ on the second day of the event, said MoUs were signed with several companies for investment in the renewable energy sector in the state.
MoUs were signed with MCL, NLC, IOCL, ONGC Tripura Power Company, RECPDCL and HPCL in solar, wind, pumped storage, battery storage and compressed bio-gas sectors for development of projects of worth Rs 1.24 lakh crore.
The Deputy CM also announced that this event has attracted global industry leaders with investment intent of Rs. 3.09 lakh crores. Investment proposals of total Rs 4.33 lakh crore were obtained in the energy sector, he said.
A total number of 300 participants, including various businesspersons, government officials, students etc. took part in the sectoral session.
Speaking about the abundant opportunities in the state, the Deputy CM said, “the government is keen to partner with industry leaders to fulfil the meet our renewable energy aspirations and contribute significantly towards greener future. He also added that, “Odisha has embraced a comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to energy development under the ambitious vision of Viksit Odisha 2047. We are dedicated to balancing industrial growth with environmental sustainability, ensuring that our progress is both inclusive and responsible.”
