Bhubaneswar: Beginning January 3, the COVID-19 vaccination of children in the 15-18 age group in Odisha will be completed within a month, said state Health & Family Welfare Director Bijay Panigrahi on Thursday.
A total of 23.65 lakh children in Odisha are eligible for vaccination. Their registration will start from January 1, Panigrahi said.
Children in the 15-18 age group can register on CoWIN or on-site from January 1 with their student ID cards.
They will be administered the vaccine at designated centres between 8 am and 1 pm. If necessary, vaccination centres will be set up at schools.
The state Health Department has advised parents to accompany the children to vaccination centres, Panigrahi said.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, those in the age group of 15-18 years will have the option of Covaxin only. Around 14 lakh doses of Covaxin are currently available Odisha.
