Vaccine Jab For Elderly & Persons With Comorbidities: Carry These Papers To Take The Jab

Bhubaneswar: As the drive to vaccinate nation’s elderly and persons with comorbidities is set to begin tomorrow, the Health Director Bijay Panigrahi has advised the eligible people to carry required documents with them to the vaccination centre.

To take COVID-19 vaccine jab elderly people will have to show their identity card  while people with comorbidities will have to produce a health certificate duly signed by a registered medical practitioner, Panigrahy said on Sunday.

As has been stated earlier, the eligible people will have to register on Co-Win portal and those unable to do so, can so register at the site and then get vaccinated, Panigrahy added.

During registration on Co-Win portal, the eligible people will have to fill in all the required columns after which an acknowledgement card will be issued. Once that is done, they can view all the vaccination centres and choose from that, Panigrahi said.

To be available at government as well as private hospitals across the State, the vaccine is free of cost at government hospitals while it is priced at Rs 250 in private hospitals.

The Health Director  said Odisha has adequate number of doses to undertake the second phase vaccination and more vaccines will reach the State very soon, he added.
