Bhubaneswar: Valentine’s Day promises to be a “noisy” affair in the city on Sunday. More than 300 couples have sought police permission for using loud speakers, bursting crackers and taking out marriage processions on the special day.
According to sources, 800 couples in Bhubaneswar will tie the knot on Valentine’s Day. And only 300 of them have approached the licensing cell in the Deputy Commissioner of Police’s (DCP) office for hosting grand festivities.
A large number of marriage ceremonies will be hosted in the heart of Bhubaneswar in accordance with the Hindu almanac and traditions.
Besides, more than 500 such weddings are going to be organised on the city outskirts.
More interestingly, many parents have chosen mutts, temples and charitable organisations as the venue for their children’s weddings because of the fear of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar is wearing a festive look with lights, gates and massive tents with all the weddings planned on Valentine’s Day.
