Bhubaneswar: In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Odisha government has extended the validity of vehicle documents up to September 30 as per a directive of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
A State Transport Authority (STA) notification states that the following documents will now be valid till September 30 — fitness certificate, registration certificate of non-transport vehicles, driving licence and permits of goods carriage, contract carriage, private service vehicle and educational institution bus which expired after February 1 or will expire before September 30.
The learner’s licences which expired after March 18 or will expire before September 30 will be treated as valid till September 30 as the driving licence test has been cancelled with effect from March 18.
Stage carriage permanent permits and permits issued by reciprocating states countersigned by the STA Odisha on inter-state routes, which had expired after February 1 or will expire before September 30, will be treated as valid till September 30, the notification added.
