Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday assured the top bureaucrats’ bodies to take action against those involved in the vandalism inside the official residence premises of IAS officer VK Pandian.
Members of the IAS Officers’ Association, IPS Officers’ Association and OAS Officers’ Association met the chief minister at his chamber at the State Secretariat here and demanded action against the culprits.
“Many associations from all over the states have given me petitions regarding this unfortunate incident. Appropriate action would be taken,” Patnaik told media persons after the meeting.
“We requested the Chief Minister that swift and exemplary action should be taken in this case to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future so that the government employees can discharge their duties in a free and fair manner. The Chief Minister has assured that appropriate action would be taken,” said Vishal Kumar Dev, secretary of IAS Officers’ Association.
The Odisha Police Officers’ Association (OPA) as well as other service bodies like Odisha Information Service Officers’ Association, Non-gazetted Employees’ Association and Secretariat Employees’ Association had also protested the incident.
