Very Dense Fog Envelops Bhubaneswar; Night Temp Below 12°C At 7 Places In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Amid ebbing cold wave conditions, very dense fog engulfed the Odisha capital on Tuesday morning, restricting visibility to 50 metre, according to the regional meteorological centre.
Dense fog was also seen in Koraput, Rourkela, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Angul and Kendrapada, while Baripada, Talcher, Chandbali and Bhawanipatna experience shallow to moderate fog.
Notably, dense fog warning was issued for one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Keonjhar, and Deogarh till this morning.
The warning continues for Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Balangir, and Boudh for the next 24 hours.
The night temperature also rose across Odisha in the last 24 hours with Semiliguda in Koraput district being the coldest at 9.3 degree Celsius, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Tuesday.
The mercury hovered around 12 degree Celsius and below at eight other places. G Udayagiri and Phulbani in Kandhamal district recorded 9.4 and 10 degree Celsius, respectively, followed by Koraput (10.2), Bargarh (10.4), Kirei in Sundargarh (10.7), Daringbadi also in Kandhamal (11.5), and Angul and Keonjhar at 12 degree Celsius each.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16.8 and 16.5 degree Celsius, respectively.
The weather agency had also forecast 2-3 degree rise in the night temperature during 2 days with no large change thereafter.
