Bhubaneswar: The members of All Odisha Non-Gazetted Veterinary
Technical Officers’ Association will launch protest across the state,
if their demands, including wage hike, are not fulfilled by the state
government.
In a council meeting convened by the association on Tuesday,
association president Upendra Nath Rana said, “The veterinary
technical officers have been striving hard for protecting cattle by
providing better health services in every village panchayats across
the state, also during natural calamities like flood, drought and
cyclone. As a result of which Odisha has made tremendous progress in
the animal husbandry activities. But it is unfortunate that their
legitimate demands have been neglected despite repeated requests to
fulfil the same.”
“We have decided to stage protest and demonstrations in all the
panchayats of the state, if our demands including hike in monthly
salary to Rs 21, 000, restructuring veterinary technical officers
cadre and provision for a special wage for those working in the
Maoist-hit areas, are not resolved”, Rana added.
