Mumbai: Actor Vicky Kaushal’s joke about marriage at a recent wedding celebration left netizens shocked and disappointed.
When Vicky took to the stage at the wedding, he asked the groom, “Sir, mujhe aap se ek hi sawal poochna hai. How’s the josh? (Sir, I want to ask a question. How’s the energy?)”
The guests at the wedding were initially delighted to hear Vicky recreate his iconic dialogue from ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’.
But then Vicky turned to the crowd and said: “Dekha? Humesha maine yeh dekha hai bachelors ka josh humesha high rehta hai. Hum shaadhishuda waalo ke toh thode se josh (made a hand gesture like a crashing plane) saal bhar saal… Actually Akash ko tension lene ki zarurat nahi hai, 4 din mein josh kum nahi hota. Haina? But ek baar main chahta hun aap room se pooche ‘how’s the josh’, and we all know what to say: ‘high sir’. Correct? (“See? I’ve always noticed that bachelors always have high energy. For those of us who are married, the energy tends to go down a bit year after year… Actually, Akash doesn’t need to worry — energy doesn’t drop in just four days, right? But once, I want you to ask everyone in the room, ‘How’s the josh?’ and we all know what to say: ‘High, sir.’ Correct?)”
Vicky’s joke didn’t go down well with the netizens, who quickly pointed out that if other married actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh had cracked such a joke, they would have been brutally trolled.
A social media user commented, “If ranbir had said this, there would have been numerous reels, podcasts, posts on x , reddit and Instagram telling us all how he is the worst husband ever.”
Another agreed — “I am no Ranbir fan but I agree…If Ranbir or even Ranveer had said this, there would’ve been arrest warrant out on them by now….Somehow nobody cares what anyone else says, not just Vicky….”
