Mumbai: Actor Vicky Kaushal is likely to reunite with director Laxman Utekar for ‘Chhaava 2’, a potential sequel centred on the life of Shahu Maharaj.
‘Chhaava’ went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025, with Vicky receiving widespread acclaim for his performance.
Now, reports suggest that Utekar is planning a sequel to the historical drama.
As per reports, the makers are looking to base the sequel on the life of Shahu Maharaj, the son of Sambhaji Maharaj, continuing the legacy explored in the first film.
“While Chhaava was based on the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, this one is going to be based on his son, Shahu Maharaj. Vicky is apparently interested in collaborating with Utekar for this project, which is currently in the planning stages,” a source was quoted as saying by TOI.
The report further stated that the movie is expected to go on floors by late 2027 or early 2028.
Both, Vicky and Utekar are currently busy with their upcoming projects ‘Love and War’ and ‘Eetha’.
