Mumbai:
Early birds who caught Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s period drama ‘Chhaava’ — which was released in theatres on Friday — took to social media platform X to share their reviews.
A section of netizens loved Vicky and Akshaye Khanna’s performance and called it a ‘blockbuster’, some felt that the film was just decent and others said it was not up to the mark.
Heaping praises on the film, a movie buff wrote on X, “#Chhaava is going to be Bollywood’s first clean superhit movie of 2025. The dialogue, set pieces, VFX, and action all like wow, and you will feel goosebumps.”
Another comment read, “Vicky Kaushal is on fire in the film, Akshaye Khanna’s performance will give you goosebumps. What casting! Brilliant!”
“The performance of #VickyKaushal IN AND AS #ChhatrapatiSambhajiMaharaj CHHAA GAYE (wow),” tweeted one user.
“The climax of #Chhaava isn’t just a scene—it’s an experience! Brace yourself for an emotional rollercoaster that will leave you speechless! #MustWatch,” wrote another user.
“#VickyKaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj FIRE HAI FIRE (He is fire)!” read another comment.
“Good battle scenes. Impressive background music. The climax of #Chhaava will leave you stunned and speechless. The intensity, emotions, and power-packed performances will give you guaranteed goosebumps!” expressed another person.
Others pointed out loopholes and felt that the second half in the film could have been much better.
“Calling #Chhaava a blockbuster is like calling a ghost town overcrowded. The numbers don’t match reality,” read a tweet.
A person wrote, “#Chhaava first-half experience so far — Not able to hit the emotions, BGM not up to the mark. Hoping for a strong second half!”
“The film is decent, though the second part hits hard. There are some loopholes which pull the movie down. But Vicky and Akshay shine well. Rashmika is good too,” said another person.
Produced by Maddock Films, ‘Chhaava’ portrays the legendary story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj (played by Vicky).
While promoting the film in the national capital, Vicky said that the role was very demanding and he barely used to get time for himself.
He also thanked his wife, actress Katrina Kaif, for being understanding.
