Balangir: Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Balangir has been embroiled in controversy after a video showing a nurse distributing money among her colleagues has gone viral in social media.
The video shows the nurse at the Obstetrics and Gynecology department of the medical college and hospital distributing money among other nurses. The money is suspected to have been collected from the patients admitted to the department.
Since the medical college and hospital is run by the state government, the outdoor and indoor patients are rendered services free of cost. But the nurses were reportedly collecting money from innocent and desperate patients on the sly.
However, after the incident came to light, the hospital authorities have transferred the nurse from Obstetrics and Gynecology department to Medicine department.
When contacted, the superintendent of the hospital said action against a nurse can only be taken by the CDMO.
