Vigilance Arrests Forester & ‘Gaon Sathi’ For Misappropriation Of Rs 10 Lakh Govt Funds In Odisha’s Koraput

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance has arrested a Forester and a Gaon Sathi (village mate) for alleged misappropriation of government funds of more than Rs 10 lakh in Odisha’s Koraput disttrict.

In a press release on Monday, the Vigilance said it had arrested Ramesh Chandra Bhatra, Forester, Bagaderi Section under Kundra Forest Range and Mahendra Khara, Village Mate of Dangarapali village under Kundra block in the district.

Bhatra and Khara were arrested for misappropriation of government funds to the tune of Rs 10,60,150 in execution of Cattle Proof Trench.

The two persons were forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Jeypore following their arrest by Odisha Vigilance.

Odisha Vigilance has registered a case under PC Amendment Act, 2018 in this connection and further investigation is underway.
