Vigilance Raids Reveal Forester’s Properties Worth Over Rs 1.5 Crore In Odisha’s Sonepur
Sambalpur: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on the properties of a Forester in Sonepur district and found him in possession of assets amounting to over Rs 1.5 crore.
Acting on the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Jagabandhu Barik, Forester, Binka Forest Section in Sonepur district, the Vigilance officials carried on raids on his residential double-storey building at Shantipada, Sonepur, residential double-storey building at Sonepur town and office room at Binka.
In course of search and inventory, Barik was found in possession of assets worth Rs 1,54,47,462. Besides the houses, Barik was found in possession of seven plots of land, two two-wheelers deposits in different banks, investment in insurance policies, gold and silver ornaments and cash.
