Mumbai: A day after apparently announcing his retirement from the film industry, the ‘Zero Se Restart’ actor Vikrant Massey on Tuesday retracted from his statement and said he was just taking a short break from work.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, Vikrant stated that his post on social media was misinterpreted as ‘retirement’, when he was just talking about taking a short break.
The actor cleared the air and said he wanted to spend some quality time with his family members and has no plans of retiring from acting.
“I’m not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health are also acting up… People misread it [the social media post],” he said.
“Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment. My post has been misinterpreted. That I am quitting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I would be back when the time feels right,” he added.
On work front, Vikrant attended the screening of ‘The Sabarmati Report’ at the Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament on Monday evening.
At the screening, the actor avoided questions about quitting films. When asked about his Instagram post, he walked away without answering.
On Monday, Vikrant took to his Instagram handle and wrote, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor.”
The actor also shared that he is shooting for two films at the moment.
“So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a year of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between,” he added.
This led to speculations that the actor is retiring from the industry.
