Cuttack: Irate villager of Kapursingh village on Wednesday thrashed a police team, including the IIC of Jagatpur police station, in Odisha’s Cuttack district.
According to sources, a team of five plain-clothed policemen of Jagatpur police station led by the IIC Pradip Kumar Nayak had gone to Kapursingh village under Gurudijhatia police limits in a private vehicle in the morning to arrest an accused.
As soon as the police team arrived at the village, the villagers attacked the policemen, including the IIC, and ransacked the vehicle.
Following information, Gurudijhatia police rushed to the village and rescued the policemen.
