Angul: Villagers of Chandanpur under Bantala police limits in Angul district detained three police personnel while they were trying to rescue two youths.
According to reports, the youths were caught stealing electric cables in the locality. After receiving information regarding the incident, the police personnel rushed to the spot and tried to rescue the duo from the clutches of the villagers, who instead detained them.
“Despite several requests, the local police have failed to check frequent incidents of thefts and robbery in the area,” said a villager.
