Vizag: India skipper Virat Kohli created another record by completing 10,000 ODI runs on Wednesday during the second ODI of the five-match series against West Indies at Visakhapatnam.
With this, he surpassed Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest player to score 10,000 runs in ODI. The right-handed batsman achieved the feat in 205 innings as against 259 of Tendulkar.
The 29-year-old also became the fifth Indian batsman to join the club after Rahul Dravid (287), MS Dhoni (273) and Sourav Ganguly (263).
Earlier in the day, Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. The visitors started well and the openers were soon bundled out. The partnership between Kohli and Ambati Rayudu steered the team out of troubled waters.
