Mumbai: Team India star and former captain Virat Kohli was back in the headlines recently, this time not for his on-field performance but for ‘liking’ an Instagram post by a German vlogger.
As the internet responded with a mix of humour and criticism, his former girlfriend Izabelle Leite reacted to a viral post discussing his “taste” in women.
An Instagram page shared photos of Izabelle alongside Anushka Sharma, German vlogger LizLaz, and Avneet Kaur, whose post Kohli had previously ‘liked’, and later attributed it to an “algorithm error.”
Sharing the picture collage, the page captioned it as, “Nobody can deny that Virat Kohli’s taste in women is absolutely elite.”
A portion of the caption also read, “From Izabelle Leite to Anushka Sharma… elite taste is just part of the brand.”
Izabelle reacted to the post with a weary emoji, expressing her frustration over the continued attention on her past relationship.
“It’s been 12 years, and counting. Why can’t people get over it,” she commented, along with a woman bowing emoji.

For the unversed, Izabelle and Kohli were reportedly in a relationship between 2012 and 2014, before the champion batter started dating Anushka.
Back in 2014, during a press interaction for her film ‘Purani Jeans’, Izabelle was asked about Virat and Anushka’s relationship. “That’s not the reason that I am here now. And, I’m really excited for my movie, and that’s all I have to talk about. From now to first May, first June or whatever. I have nothing to talk about Virat Kohli anymore,” she had replied.
Izabelle is married and settled in Doha with her husband and their two children.
On the work front, Izabelle was last seen in the 2019 Telugu film ‘Mr. Majnu’ and the 2020 release ‘World Famous Lover’.
In May 2025, a fan of Avneet noticed that Kohli had liked one of her pictures, and the screengrab of the interaction quickly went viral.
Reacting to the buzz, Kohli issued a clarification, stating that “the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction.”
Recently, the cricketer was back in the spotlight for ‘liking’ a post by German vlogger LizLaz. This time, however, Kohli chose not to issue any public clarification, maintaining silence amid the chatter.
Anushka and Kohli dated for several years before tying the knot in 2017. The couple is blessed with a daughter and a son.
Anushka was last seen in ‘Zero’ alongside Shah Rukh and later made a cameo appearance in the 2022 Netflix film ‘Qala’.
Her much-anticipated sports drama ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ is yet to be released, and she has not announced any upcoming projects so far.
