Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Thursday said it is developing a 2030 document for downstream industries to achieve more than 50 per cent value addition to the primary metal produced in the state with a vision of achieving 100 MTPA capacity for steel production.
Addressing over 60 steel manufacturing companies at an event here, Industries Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra said Odisha provides a friendly ecosystem for the steel industries to expand their base.
The Minister also urged the captains of the steel industries to undertake social initiatives through CSR activities.
Industries Secretary Sanjeev Chopra said the state will create an enabling infrastructure to reduce logistical costs of the industries.
The state government has already created one lakh acre land bank to enable large scale investment in Odisha, IDCO Chairman Sanjay Singh said.
