Visiting Cuttack’s Bali Jatra? Avoid Taking Baranga Route; Know Why

Cuttack: With lakhs of visitors thronging the millennium city every day to witness the annual Bali Jatra, the denizens of Odisha capital have been advised to avoid the Baranga route on way to the open-air fair on Sunday.

According to sources, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra advised the people of Bhubaneswar to take an alternative route or the National Highway – 16 in view of the immersion ceremony of Lord Kartikeswar at Barang. “There is likely to be congestion on the road with a procession of around 50 idols will cross the main Chakk at Barang. Avoid this route completely after 5.30-6 pm. The traffic on NH is slow but there is no congestion,” the DCP said.

Previously, a complete traffic advisory was issued by Twin City Commissionerate Police mentioning that no vehicles are allowed to ply on Trishulia and Nandankanan roads.
