Visuals Of Puri Jagannath Temple Interior Go Viral, Questions Raised Over Security
Puri: Despite a slew of restrictions imposed by the authorities, a man allegedly shot video inside Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri and posted it on social media, posing serious questions over the security of the 12th century shrine.
According to sources, a man from outside the state reportedly shot the videos of while visiting the Temple recently and uploaded th same on his Instagram account. The man has been identified as Rohit Jaiswal from Varanasi.
It was immediately not clear as to how he managed to carry the device with him inside the temple premises as mobile phones are prohibited there.
He was believed to have carried the mobile phone as there is not much rush and vigil inside the shrine as the sibling deities are now at Gundicha temple on a nine-day sojourn during Rath Yatra.
Now questions are being raised over lapses in security measures again as mobile phones and cameras are strictly prohibited inside the 12th century shrine. There is no clarity whether he managed to enter the temple premises due to laxity in security measures as the deities are away from the temple or if there were anybody’s hands in the incident.
No comment was immediately available from the temple administration and police on the development.
It may be noted that videos and pictures of the interior areas of Shree Jagannath Temple have gone viral on social media earlier too as such security lapses were reported on several occasions. Last year, pictures of the sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Gruha) of the shrine had gone viral on social media.
