Mumbai: Decades after their much-publicised feud, Vivek Oberoi has seemingly found common ground with Salman Khan.
The actor has backed Salman’s recent stand against online trolling, calling it “a very negative thing” after the Bigg Boss 20 host hit out at social media users for body-shaming and age-shaming celebrities.
On Tuesday, Vivek attended an event organised by the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA), where he spent time with children battling cancer.
Speaking to Bollywood Chronicle, the actor was asked about Salman Khan’s recent comments against trolls on Bigg Boss 20.
Vivek responded, “Kuch nahi yaar, mujhe lagta hai trolling wagera karna bhi nahi chahiye. Trolling is a very negative thing, and there are a lot of positive things to do in life kya negative mein padhe ho (Nothing, yaar. I feel people shouldn’t troll others either. Trolling is a very negative thing, and there are so many positive things to do in life. Why get caught up in negativity?).”
During the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman Khan spoke out against social media trolling targeting celebrities over their appearance. He revealed that he had also been called “budha” online and mocked for his bald look.
The actor further defended Katrina Kaif against criticism over her post-pregnancy weight gain.
He said, “Everyone puts on weight after getting pregnant. When she returns to films, she will get back in shape. She wants to spend time with her family.”
Salman also hit back at body-shamers by taking off his T-shirt and flaunting his physique. He revealed that his bald look was for an upcoming film and was also connected to the recent death of a close friend.
He further slammed trolls for making money by putting others down, calling them “parasites”.
Vivek will next feature in Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey and Yash in key roles.
Reportedly made on a ₹4,000 crore budget, Part 1 is set to release on Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
