Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) at Burla will remain shut till July 18, vice-chancellor Atal Chaudhuri informed on Monday.
“Based on the pandemic situation due to COVID, different faculty members and supporting staff are put to force self-quarantine for varying periods with varying starting dates. Under this situation, the university feels the need to extend the period of closure of the University till July 18 except for essential services,” the notification said.
The varsity will become fully functional from July 20, it added.
The VSSUT was earlier sealed on July 1, after a day shutdown, for seven days after a woman lecturer tested positive for COVID-19.
