Bhubaneswar: Bringing laurels for Odisha, Swapna Priyadarsini, who was crowned the third runners-up at the recently concluded Miss Tourism and Culture Universe 2018 held at Yangon in Myanmar, wants to win the coveted ‘Miss Universe’ title for India.
“Sushmita Sen is my role model. I want to represent India in ‘Miss Universe’ contest and win the title, just like my idol,” said Swapna.
Born in Dhenkanal, Swapna is currently studying in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, where her father is posted. She has earlier participated in ‘Miss Teen’ and ‘KIIT Nanhi Pari’ beauty contest.
However, a title in an international pageant has not only earned her fame, but also added to the glory of the country as Swapna was the only contestant from India in the event.
“Taking part in the event has enriched my cultural knowledge about Myanmar. I got an opportunity to share our culture too,” she said.
Swapna, who also Miss-Photogenic title at the event, performed on Sambalpuri folk number ‘Dalkhai’ at the event. She wore a Sambalpuri saree for the performance.
“My performance was appreciated a lot. I feel blessed to have represented India at an international level and showcase its culture.”
Besides modelling, Swapna wants to make a career in acting.
