[Watch] ALH Dhruv Mk III Commissioned In Bhubaneswar, To Boost Maritime Security Along Odisha-Bengal Coast
Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to maritime security, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Sunday commissioned the indigenously designed and manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH-Dhruv) MK-III squadron in Bhubaneswar in presence of IGC chief VS Pathania.
The most advanced variant of ALH will enhance maritime capabilities of force along West Bengal-Odisha coast and beyond, ICG officials said.

The ALH MK III Helicopters feature an array of systems previously seen only on heavier, multi-role helicopters.
Manufactured by state-run aerospace behemoth Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), These helicopters are equipped with advanced surveillance radar and electro-optical equipment, which enable them to perform maritime reconnaissance as well as long-range Search and Rescue operations, both by day and night.
It is equipped with a heavy machine gun to carry out constabulary missions in addition to special operations The helicopters also have a detachable Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) to transport critically-ill patients and are equipped with a variety of modern avionics, making them an all-weather aircraft.
