[Watch] Army Operations Underway At Two J&K Areas, 3 Militants Killed

Jammu: Three militants were killed by the security forces in the ongoing operation at Baramulla of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday (September 14), according to reports. The identity of the terrorists was yet to be ascertained. The operation is still underway.

An encounter broke out between militants and the security forces in the Chak Tapper Kreeri Pattan area of the district in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night (September 13).

“Encounter has started at Chak Tapper Kreeri Pattan area of Baramulla. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” the Kashmir Zone Police wrote in a post on X.

2 soldiers killed in Kishtwar

In an encounter with militants in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, two soldiers were killed and two others injured.

According to the Army, a joint search operation was launched by J&K Police and Army after specific intelligence inputs were received in Chatroo area of the Kishtwar district.

The searches continued throughout the day after which contact was established with the hiding militants.

“The militants fired on the search party. The fire was returned by the troops, triggering an encounter,” an Army official said, as quoted by the New Indian Express.

The injured soldiers were evacuated to nearby military hospital. More troops were rushed to the area to tighten the siege. An operation by the Army is underway at Kishtwar. Army used drones and other electronic gadgets for aerial surveillance.

The Jammu region has seen many militant attacks and gunfights since June this year. The authorities have deployed 4,000 additional troops in Jammu region to tackle the growing militancy. Besides, the Village Defence Groups (VDGs) have been revived and the VDG members have been armed with self-automatic SLR rifles, reports stated.
