According to reports, some of those who were on the balcony were injured including two who had to be treated in a hospital. No one was killed in the incident, which reportedly took place on May 8.
“We heard a crack, and I literally saw all my best friends and my girlfriend fall 15 feet to the rocks. The deck just literally gave out. It could’ve been a lot worse, but it’s pretty awful,” CBSLA quoted an eyewitness as saying.
Following the mishap, many questioned why 15 people were on the balcony at the same time during COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
The owner of the property told a news channel that he had rented it to a group of only six people for the weekend. In reality, more than double the specified number turned up without informing the owner.
