Bhubaneswar: Aparajita Sarangi, the BJP MP from Odisha, arrived in Parliament on Friday with a tote bag with 1984 inscribed on it as a ‘gift’ for Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Speaking to media, Aparajita said: “It was crucial to bring the atrocities of 1984 to light. Since Priyanka ji is so fond of bags, I gave her this one on Sikh massacre in 1984 with drops of blood on it. She was definitely not comfortable and was hesitant at first but then took it and tucked it away.”

The Bhubaneswar MP further stated that the present generation of Congress should be made aware of the historical errors committed by the party while in power for almost 55 years. “We in BJP and NDA are keen to ensure that all these historical errors are put forth before them as we correct those,” she said, referring to Article 370, 35 (A), triple talaq and the recent One Nation, One Election bill.
Priyanka had managed to turn heads with her tote bags for two consecutive days earlier this week. A day after her bag with ‘Palestine’ emblazoned on it alongside a watermelon, a widely recognised symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian, triggered a fierce reaction from the BJP, the Wayanad MP was on Tuesday seen with another bag in Parliament, supporting Bangladeshi minorities.
