Lucknow: The election heat seems to have got the better of our lawmakers. Throwing all public decorum into thin air, a BJP MP and an MLA on Wednesday exchanged blows at a district-level meeting, hurled chappals and used all sort of unpalatable languages before being separated by others.
MP from Sant Kabir Nagar Sharad Tripathi and local BJP MLA Rakesh Singh reprehensible acts was captured live on camera by various channels. The video has gone viral in social media. The party’s central leadership had assured action.

The fight broke out after a fuming Tripathi asked why his name was not included on the foundation stone for a local road. Baghel said it was his decision.
What followed was absolute mayhem with Tripathi bashing the other with his shoe and Baghel responding in kind as well.
Finally, police officers attending the meeting had to intervene to end the fight. Till the very end of the video, the two lawmakers can be heard abusing each other.
