Washington: Chinese virologist Dr Li-Meng Yan has claimed that coronavirus came from a lab in Wuhan owned and funded by the government.
In an exclusive interview to Loose Women, she said that reports that COVID-19 originated at a wet market in Wuhan are ‘smokescreen’.
Stating that it was her moral and scientific duty to blow the whistle on the cover-up, Dr Yan said she would publish a report with scientific evidence to prove her claim.
Dr Yan specialised in virology and immunology at the Hong Kong School of Public Health. She had conducted a study about the virus on the grounds in December and January and reported her findings to her supervisor, a WHO consultant, but got no response from him. She was instead asked to stay mum on the issue. It was then that she decided to tell the people about it and fled Hong Kong, fearing for her life.
