New Delhi: Unemployment is such a pain that it can force people to take steps they hadn’t thought of doing.
As big dreams of Indian students took a hit, they lined up for waiters’ jobs in Canada.
A disturbing video, showing helpless Indian students waiting in a queue to get hired as waiter at Tandoori Flame restaurant in Canada, has gone viral on social media platforms.
Expressing his frustration, Agamvir Singh, one of the students in the queue, said, “I came here around 12 noon, and the line was really huge. We put the application on the internet and were told that an interview would be taken. But nothing like that happened. People are just coming here. I don’t believe there is scope for jobs here. It is really tough.”
Another job-seeker said, “It’s so bad; it’s like everyone is looking for a job, and no one is getting a job properly. So many of my friends don’t have a job right now, and they have been here for 2-3 years.”
The disturbing video was shared on X by @MeghUpdates.
The post was captioned as, “Students leaving India for Canada with rosy dreams need serious introspection!”
There were reaction galore.
One user wrote, “This is a harsh reality check for those thinking Canada is the land of milk and honey.”
“It’s disheartening to see so many students in such dire circumstances,” remarked another.
“Perhaps it’s time for prospective students to reconsider their options and think twice before making such a move,” commented one netizen.
Sympathising with the students, another user wrote, “It’s heartbreaking to see so many hopeful individuals struggling to find work.”
