California: There’s a limit to callousness.
In a shocking incident, an ophthalmologist recently removed 23 contact lenses from a patient’s eye!
And how did so many lenses get stored inside the eye? Well, she forgot to remove her contact lenses before going to bed for 23 nights in a row.
Dr Katerina Kurteeva of California in US posted a video on her Instagram page a few weeks ago, showing the removal procedure of those contact lenses.
The video subsequently went viral.
“A rare occasion when someone forgot to remove contact lenses at night and kept on putting a new one in every morning. 23 days in a row!!! I got to deliver the contact lens bunch yesterday in my clinic,” Kurteeva wrote alongside the video.

The video has attracted over 3 million views and counting.
The doctor took the opportunity to remind patients about proper lens wear. He also reminded them never to sleep in contact lenses.
