Lord Shiva’s palanquin was taken to Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath, the deity’s winter abode, from Kedarnath. Similarly, the idol of goddess Yamuna was shifted to Kharsali village.

This year, over 7.1 lakh devotees offered prayers at Yamunotri, 16.1lakh at Kedarnath and 12.5lakh at Badrinath, reported the TOI, quoting officials.

On November 2, the doors of Gangotri Dham were closed. The palanquin of goddess Ganga departed for Mukhba, her winter abode, from Gangotri. The final closure for Badrinath Dham will be on November 17, marking the end of this year’s pilgrimage season.
