[Watch] DVF Jawans Carry Sick Old Man On Cot For 2 Km To Save His Life In Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: The life of an old man was saved in a remote village of the district as DVF jawans carried him on a cot for nearly 2 km to admit in a hospital.

The incident took place at Kamarpalli village under Mathili block where the District Voluntary Force (DVF) had opened a public awareness camp. While the DVF jawans were engaged in the awareness campaign at the camp, they were informed that an old man, identified as Apu Padiami of the village was suffering from acute pain.

The jawans rushed to the old man’s house to make arrangements for admitting him to the hospital at Mathili. But the problem was that the village does not have a motorable road and the DVF did not have a vehicle at the time.

However, the DVF jawans arranged a cot and carried the old man writhing in pain carefully. They had to go on foot for nearly 2 km to approach the main road. The locals arranged a vehicle there and the patient was rushed to be admitted to the community health centre (CHC) at Mathili.

Following treatment, the condition of the old man was stated to be normal, hospital sources said.

The villagers have expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the jawans for their timely intervention and selfless service in saving the life of a sick man.
