Bhubaneswar: Leaders and activists of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) marched to the Enforcement Directorate office in Bhubaneswar on Monday, as part of nationwide protests against ED’s summons to Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in connection with the National Herald case.
The protest was led by newly appointed OPCC chief Sarat Pattanayak, who termed the ED summons as political vendetta and misutilisation of the agency by the BJP. “No politician or party can last in a democracy in such a revengeful atmosphere. The BJP gave the slogan of a ‘Congress-free India’. It’s conspiring against the Gandhi family. But their attempts will not be successful. Congress workers across the country including Odisha stand with Rahul Gandhi,” he said.
State Congress leader Suresh Routray too slammed the BJP.
