On Tuesday, Ekta expressed gratitude to the CM for making ‘The Sabarmati Report’ tax free in Odisha and urged him watch the movie with his council of ministers.

Odisha is the seventh BJP-ruled states after Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, to exempt entertainment tax on ‘The Sabarmati Report’, based on the Godhra train burning incident, from entertainment tax.

The film starring Vikrant Massey Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra have been directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan.

After being released on November 15, the drama thriller has collected Rs 29.80 crore at the box office, as per Sanilk.

It is based on the burning of S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express near Godhra station of Gujarat on February 27, 2002, in which 59 Hindu devotees returning from Ayodhya were charred to death. The incident triggered riots in Gujarat that year
