Kolkata: A massive fire broke out at Sealdah ESI Hospital here on Friday morning. According to reports, the blaze was brought under control after two hours. At least 10 fire tenders were pressed into action.
Patients from various wards of the hospital were moved out of it after a fire broke out early in the morning.

There was no report of any injury in the fire, an official said, according to The Telegraph. The official claimed that most of the patients were safely evacuated from the hospital.

“It was a very serious (massive) fire. Nearly 80 patients were trapped inside, but we successfully rescued them all. One patient who was admitted to the ICU has died, but there is no other casualty…” DFO, TK Dutta, told ANI.
West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services minister Sujit Bose had also rushed to the hospital after receiving the news.
