Berhampur: A fire broke out in the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Berhampur on Friday. All patients have been moved out to safety. Fire services personnel are on the spot. There were no casualties.
The fire broke out in the plastic surgery ward in the super specialty block of the hospital. It was first noticed by some patients and their attendants, who saw smoke inside the ward.
An electric short circuit is suspected to have started the fire. All patients were shifted out of the ward and fire services personnel have already doused the blaze. The damage to property caused by the fire is still being assessed.
